Dini Petty is a Canadian broadcaster, journalist, and media personality best known for hosting the daytime talk program The Dini Petty Show and for her long career in Toronto television and radio. Born on January 15, 1945, in Kingston upon Thames, England, she moved to Canada and began her media career in the 1960s at Toronto radio station CKEY, where she made history as one of the first female traffic reporters to pilot her own helicopter while delivering live traffic reports over the city. Petty later became a familiar face on programs such as CityLine and news broadcasts for Citytv before launching The Dini Petty Show in 1989, a nationally syndicated talk show known for its candid celebrity interviews, musical performances, and discussions about social issues. Over decades in broadcasting she developed a reputation for direct, conversational interviewing and for breaking ground as a female television host in Canadian media. In recent years Petty has returned to broadcasting with projects such as Trailblazing Talks while also sharing archival interviews from her classic talk show through online platforms and public appearances.
