Join emergency physician and author Dr. Anne Aspler for a special family-friendly author conversation celebrating the release of her new book, Rise After Silence: An ER Doctor and the Patients Who Healed Her.
Drawing on sixteen years in the emergency department and her own journey to becoming an author, Anne will talk about how real-life experiences become stories, what it means to write about difficult subjects with honesty and care, and how books can help us better understand ourselves and one another.
Designed to engage adults while also welcoming younger audience members, the conversation will explore her writing journey, discuss the inspiration behind Rise After Silence, and reflect on the challenges and rewards of writing about difficult topics. The event will also include an audience Q&A, with opportunities for young readers and aspiring writers to ask their own questions. Following the conversation, Anne will be available to meet readers and sign copies of the book.
At its heart, Rise After Silence is a book about courage, connection, and the unexpected ways people can change and heal one another.
